Tip

Don’t allow things into the house in the first place. Whether you’ve begun decluttering the living space, or you’ve just completed it, stop bringing in new stuff NOW.

Tip

Declutter for 15 minutes every day. It’s amazing how much you can get through if you just do it in small increments like this.

Rule 5 De-clutter

I haven’t come across many households that do not contain some degree of clutter. Whether it be a single item, like the exercise bike in the hallway that you thought was a great idea to buy last year and no one has used for at least 12 months, or the multitude of items which are stacked from floor to ceiling in your garage; making it virtually impossible to use the space for the purpose it was designed. De-cluttering is an activity which has a number of benefits: financial, practical and personal. Clearing your home of the possessions you no longer need, believe it or not, will help you to think more clearly and feel more relaxed. Being able to find things easily and
having more physical space to move around does wonders for those everyday stress levels. You will probably uncover space in your home you had forgotten. Uncover the cash potential in your unwanted goods, so not only will you have a tidy home and a
relaxed mind, you will also have a healthy bank balance.
Once you have de-cluttered you will have less inclination to waste money on buying items you don`t need. Before you buy anything start thinking do I really need it, is it an object or an investment.

Start A Dairy

Keep a record of your achievements and enter them up each day. The motivation from this is fantastic, after a few days you will be looking for things to do to improve your well being. This will get you well on the road to making the small adjustments over time. You will be able to look back over each month and see how the small daily improvements increase your wealth.

Rule 4 Get Organised

Get all your outgoings sorted, layout all the paperwork the collate everything in a nice easy to see file. This is so easy to do and is free so get it done. It s so important because to improve your wealth you will need to refer to this file daily. This is what will make you wealthy taking control of your money, Knowing where you stand, whats coming in , where is it going, what you owe and what you own. You will have to refer to this file every day and ensure that your wealth is improving. Remember quantum leap, most people are looking for this but it is doing the small things every day over a period of time that will make you improve.

You must be honest with yourself and make sure you include everything in your spreadsheet and file.

Rule 3 Establish Where You Are Now

Hopefully you now have the motivation to want to get on with the job of becoming wealthy. But before you rush headlong into making plans you need to find out where you are now. Basically , just like any business you need to prepare a balance sheet. You need to establish your net worth. Once you have established where you are now it is possible by following these rules that you will turn your finances around and within one years time the same exercise will show a much improved picture.
Your personal balance sheet should be organised int0 four sections :-
1. What you owe, mortgage, loans, credit cards etc.
2. Annual expenses car tax , insurance etc.
3. Monthly expenses food, phone, gas, electric etc.
4.Your monthly income.

These are best laid out on a spreadsheet so you can track your improvements as you go along. This is how your wealth will grow.

Rule 2 Start A Spending Diary

Why bother with a spending diary I hear you say, How can that increase my wealth? It may not sound like fun and it will even take up some of your time but you need to take control of your money. Just like any successful business you need to work out where your money goes now.
Write down what you spend, when you spend it and how much you spend. Use either a simple diary, a spreadsheet or use this free on line diary. If you have never kept a diary before you probably won`t think it will make much difference-but believe me it will. At first I thought it was a sad thing to do, everyone I told about it thought it was sad, Within a week or to it was a revelation, a shock I was spending far more than I needed to. Once I saw what I was spending in black and white it became much easier to cut back.
At the end of every week I became aware of how much I was wasting and the money saved could be used to reduce debt, invest and enjoy.
